What happened to these? You post them up and generated a lot of interest...and then you disappear?

just wanted you guys to check out what i really do at work...hahaha.
last week i went to a car show left my windows down and some one stole my door lock knobs. so i decided to make my own i was originally gonna go with Aluminum 2011or6061. but stainless steel 303. is way stronger. what u guys think
i used both the mill and a lathe. also drill and tap. they look identical to the original just these are not plastic covered in chrome..

Those's are sweet, but i can only imagine leaning over on them,or hitting your arm on them, they look sharp on the ends

Those look well crafted. Only thing I would mention would be looking at making them without the bell shape on the end. That makes it really easy for someone to slip a coat hanger between the window and weatherstripping and just pop your locks.

I locked myself out of my car years and years ago and a friend of mine fashioned a coat hanger into a hook and had the door popped open in 20 seconds. I changed my door lock knobs shortly after to something that wasn't so easy to grab. 🙂

if u mean ..should use LOCTITE ... u can but if u need to remove the door panel it will be kinda tuff.
now if u mean to lock my car next time...tell me about it.. who steals door lock knobs...wtf? :wtf:[/quote]

people are crazy... my buddy had his 86 monte parked in his driveway, someone walked down his long *ss driveway, smashed his drivers window and stole his drivers side t-top... i had an extra drivers window, so i gave it to him and helped him put it in, and i sprayed my old car cover with NEVERWET and gave him that, so hopefully it will keep his car dry untill he can get a new t-top... ghetto freakin trash...
