Here's the Duramax powered GNX clone, built out of an Olds Cutlass Diesel:

Funny, I stumbled across all these pics, and after 21 pages, knowing I had not seen the 'GranMax', there it is  I love the Budnik wheels! Haven a hopped 'Max in my truck, I'm sure the 'Vador would annihilate :notworthy:

First off, I love the lowriders, so much detail & commitment. Those interiors all look nice, but look like they took sooo much time & money. That all being said PLEASE NO HOPPING!! I've seen too many g-bodies destroyed or literally fall apart while doing so. Not a big fan of the donks either...Here is my idea of a custom donk...

Another cutlass, but not g-body

That bugandy Monte SS is dope! So is that GNX clone with some huge azz meats!! I love the paint on some of these cars but I tend to love stock interiors. The biggest rims I've really liked are plain old 20's. But thats just me.

Some of the same guys who build their cars so radically that they remove the heater boxes and gut the interior, build such high compression motors that they cant run them on the street are no different than the guys who are throwing 30's and lift kits on their cars. But I'm sure each guy likes what they built so have at it. In fact, what I tend to like gets stretched out every time I see something new. Its fun to see your tastes grow even as you get older.

I seen a 69 Camaro on a 4x4 frame with mudders. I'm sure that pissed a lot of people off.

The reason you see street cars being destroyed is that they are not properly reinforced. Here is my MC posing for the camera.

If you want to 3 wheel and/or hop you should have your frame wrapped first, although some get away with a partial ( wouldn't try it). It also falls on the person doing the reinforcements. There are little tricks of the trade that will help the car take the abuse, and of course keep up on the maintenance. My car will do mid 30s hopping, but my frame is built to do upwards of 60inchs.

As people get older (not all people) their taste tends to become a little more conservative. Those are the cars I like the most because we all know that less is more

I love this monte, done real clean

Anyone know where I can get the headlight blackout covers like this GNX has, I think they are gorgeous
01.jpg

Or are they just headlights that have been smoked?

Yea I was talking about the hopping contest where they literally jump off the ground, land wrong and roll over or just destroy bumpers and such...like this one http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=owam9Hbs-y0

When you get into big inches you always run the risk of something going wrong (possible fire, balljoints breaking, ect), but it is no more of a risk than people who drag race who wreck, catch on fire, ect. That video you posted is what we call a clown car. The average person wouldn't know the difference, but as you can see that car has a whole lot of weight in the rear end(metal plates, lead, ect) making the car float/hop high and stand on the bumper. One other indication of weight(extra weight other than hydraulic equipment and batteries) is the bumper hits the ground really hard after it floats. Pretty much considered cheating.

Check out some of the videos here

That is what no weight looks like, and peeps who take pride in their rides.
