The Cutlass in the first pic is a friend of mine. He's had this car since we were in high school together and i"ve this car progress from running 9's in the 1/8th mile, to well into the 5's just last year.

I have a question about bigwheel cars...
... as far as most G-bodies I've seen, the rear of the car generally sits up higher. So how come alot of these cars with large wheels are sitting lower in the rear than in the front?
is this is a deliberate feature? Or is that just how they sit when you lift them or run larger wheels?

Yeah thats done intentionally. Thats the way the owners want it to sit

is this purely for asthetics? Or is it to keep a good pinion angle on the driveshaft after a lift?

To us it's mostly just for aesthetics. That stance is what most people want for their car. Putting a lot of weight in trunk (via sound systems) also helps. Some people do it to put more weight over the rearend (usually the guys with hot motors). Most people don't use lifts anymore. It's all about the biggest rim you can fit without using a lift now, that's what skinny tires are for. A lot of the big lift cars you see were built pre-'06, before skinny tires are available to the masses.

pretty crazy sometimes... tires look skinny cuz they're tall, but some of these guys run 325+ wide tires!
... something I couldn't imagine stuffing in my wheel wells
like that Blue cutlass a few posts back

I don't know it skinnies go was wide as 325's, but I know most people with skinnies use 255/30 series, 275/25 series, or 295/25 series tires. G-body's don't have a lot of room in the rear so 275/25 is usually the limit, after that a lift is usually needed or some frame notching.
