Cutting the coils?

I cut both the front and rear springs. Before:

i cant for the life of me figure out how to get the front springs out of the front of my 78 camino!!?? any suggestions?

take the shock out, use a spring compressor and when the pressure is off the lower control arm remove the lower control arm from the spindle and let the lower control arm drop to get the spring out
