That is why I live in a neighborhood without an HOA!!! I made sure to check for one before I bought my house in 1996. Ya know what? It's not a bad or high crime place to live either, even without a myriad of gates, and Waffen SS officers in jack boots coming around to be sure I do not brake the rules. I had a complaint once about me "running a business" because I fixed my own cars. My reply was that I had title to all of them, and if I was running a business, I am not making any money since I have had them for years. Another time, I was told I could not have an un registered vehicle-my Cutlass. So, I got tags and insurance for it, and did not move it and there was nothing they could do to me. I may pay $100 a month for insurance, but it's a small price to pay knowing I am pissing off some SOB with nothing better to do with their time than look at my house!

Yeah HOA's are the suck for car guys hahahaha ... and you'd be screwed in a typical HOA 'hood doing what you're doing (and what most of us do for that matter).

😀

The drama of the story though and how it's unfolding is like 100x better than any day time soap, easily. 8)

To hell with HOAs. Buying property means it's my damn property. It's not my problem if you're morally offended by a car on jackstands.
Live and let live.

You know...
After reading some of that, and his plan to wheel the car into the garage and so forth a question came up in my mind.

Why didn't he just put the hang-tag back up and complain that his car got booted even though he has a pass?
"What the hell, my car got booted"
"They say you weren't displaying a pass"
"Yeah I was. You have it on record that I've had that pass since _____."

^ Now that wouldn't have been as fun would it.

But no ... that's a very good point actually. Someone should mention that on that post since that would be the easiest to explain and in all honesty the easiest to defend. I overlooked that option myself actually.

As long as someone cuts their grass and picks up trash and keeps the house looking half way decent I could care less about what junkers in the driveway. As long as they have plans on restoring it.

Well...I haven't cut it in a month so....
