My dash light flash on and off sometimes when I brake and drive . Does anybody know if this is a ground problem if so where is it located ? I swap all the lights to new leds a year ago

Turn on the lights and wiggle the gauge cluster. Do the lights go off and on?

Could be a dead spot in the dimmer, too. Turn the headlight switch knob to see if it changes; I had the same problem on mine. New headlight switch will fix it if that's the problem.

* instrument panel dimmer NOT high/low headlight dimmer. They're different- one on top of the column, one is the front section of the headlight switch.

Does anyone know where to find a instrument panel switch ? No one lists one, even rock auto. 86 olds cutlass

I was thinking you had a different type switch. I don't recall the newer style in those cars. Is it on the column inboard of the wiper delay?
