My 79 had a Landau type half top on it, down to scraps when I got it. But it wasn't the standard cheapie add-on, the cloth was a Haarts type canvas with a heavy layer of padding under it, the back window was frenched, (over all the factory moldings, thankfully), and the moldings looked like the 78 factory items. It was installed very nicely from what I could tell, every molding and seam was caulked and there is zero rust under it. It was the first thing to go.

Drag this sucker back from the dead. My 88 Brougham is also water bed like. My 70 S is just as comfortable but runs circles around it in the corners. Maybe having the mighty 260 in the 70 just makes it seem that way. I will see shortly as the 260 is going in the 88.

I think that it comes down to which suspension was installed from the factory. I know that the non-f41 cars had a really 'soft' suspension but they were easily upgraded with the f41 bits. Some of the non-f41 cars were also missing certain body bushings which also give them a 'soft' ride.

I think mine must be missing every bushing Frank:). Both my BIL Monte Carlo's rode firmer and handled better, probably Olds and Buick's both were maximized for ride over handling except for the performance models. I really like that 10th Anniversary Pontiac Cup Grand Am.

Turna's post shows that like many of us suspected, dealers had little taste. The Canadian Pontiac isn't bad (aside from red/white interior, but that's a personal dislike) and the M80 is OK, but those others...OMG eye bleach required.
