I have no doubt that this has been posted or discussed somewhere on this forum before. Was watching Mythbusters reruns yesterday when they ran the Mega-Movie episode. They jumped a Cutlass Duke-boy style. One less parts car out there...

Folded in half? I was impressed at how well it held up! That's a hell of an impact to withstand! The front was stuffed up, but the passenger compartment appeared pretty much unharmed in terms of deformation.

They should've put some ballast in the trunk to keep the car level in the air like they did on the show. In some episodes, you could see the trunk area sag when the car hit the ground because there'd be up to 500# of cement in the trunk...

They first used that Cutlass in the 'going faster over bumps is smoother' myth.

It was a pretty clean looking non a/c car... 😢

Mythbusters also crashed a Regal into a vegetable stand. I was suprised how much damage a few bananas and watermelons could do.
