Differential blew up, just got new one

If this differential has one of the lower gear sets, i've heard rumors they came setup as low as a 2.73 or something, would it be worth it for me to change the ring and pinion?

Alright got a new differential, got it in the car and all is well. I lucked out, i picked up a limited slip differential from an 87 monte carlo with 44k millage, 200$.

The only downside was the new differential has 2.41 gears, she's a highway hammer.

You can go as low as 3.08 on a 2 series carrier. I like the 3.08

I was going too, but for once i decided to leave well enough alone. I've never setup a differential internally and i've got a big trip coming up, didn't want to push it.

Gp chime in on another post of mine under engine, having trouble with my timing curve again.

That is a great price for that rear end with a posi in it and you know with 2.41 gears it wasn't abused... 🙂
