Are the door panels without the strap/handle (or any evidence of a strap) most often a reproduction?

Ive seen several ss montes without them and always wondered if the owner restored the panel or what.

The black door stills look nice! painted or powdercoated?

That set is painted, but we are considering offering them powder coated.

Correction, I was wrong, they are powder coated semi gloss black.

Wait a minute, I don't see the Chevrolet logo on the long dash panel. Are these available? I've sanded my logo off but need to prime it and sand it, then paint it, then buff it, yadda yadda. It would be nice just to buy one

Yes, it is a smooth vent panel that we produce.

I personally have never seen a Monte Carlo SS come without them. I would guess that they are reproduction/reupholstered door panels but I could be wrong.

When we found our most recent shop car, it had a worn out dark and dingy claret maroon interior. Little projects tend to snowball and now our "test car" is suddenly undergoing a complete transformation with as many of our parts as possible. Given our big plans, we have decided to name this project #DixieSSRevival. Check back often to watch our progress and feel free to post any of your questions.

Hi, there let me know how you make out, I have the same colour and t-top and I was going to order from Dixie, and keep us posted it.

Welcome to the site guys, nice ride. But if your going to drive it (vs showing) get some seats with head rests. Ya don't want to be the one responsible for someone's future injury because of a style quirk. Try modern GTO seats, Cady Eldo, period G cars buckets, lots of choices. I went with Recaro's back in 79 & they look Ok?? Take care & Have FUN, Ole' Bob.

I think it looks much better without the headrest. Looks good.

Door rebuilding started with new water shields and insulation.

As you may have already noticed, we opted to get rid of all chrome on the interior of this car. Anything that was chrome has been powder coated, painted or pinstriped black to give the car its own personality. It’s a small detail that should really make a big difference. You don’t realize how much chrome is in there until you get rid of it….these cars have a lot of chrome screws! Looks brand new, with a couple of extra speakers blasting the greatest hits of the 80's.
