yes.

what i'm saying is, we need a car FAQ. like what motors were avail what years, the models for each year, transmissions, wheels, colors etc.......

since some of us are very new and some new to G-bodies in general, it would nice to know what to look for on certain year cars.

i've been a mopar guy my whole life w/a few exceptions like an 87 GP i had quite a few years ago.

the reason for this is, i thought 85 was first yr for 200R4, but i just looked at an 85 V6 car and did not have O/D trans. so curious what could be found where and on what.

any opinions??

yeah a FAQ wouldn't be a bad idea.

the 200r4 actually came out twice, the second time was the official release. i believe they first showed up, with a BOP mounting pattern only, in 1982. in 84? they came out officially, with the dual bolt pattern. don't try and make sense of it, it's GM. but they did still use the 200c-piece of sh*t, and the th350 up to about 86, i think. the 200c was usually only on the V6.
motor wise there were:
the turbo v6 in buicks and the occasional monte--non EFI
EFI turbo v6 GN/GNX motor
4.3l v6 TBI (may have been chevy only)
3.8l v6 non-turbo (i believe there were chevy and BOP versions, but not sure)
307ci BOP only
305ci chevy, occasionally in canadian BOP's.

200-4r was the only trans. available for the '83 hurst/olds.

An FAQ would definitely be a good idea. Especially since these cars seem to be configured about several hundred different ways.

Add in Export models and that just adds to the confusion as well.
