Re: Dodge Challanger???

My old plymouth acclaim was GREAT on gas too. 30's to 40 on the highway. My truck, not so much, but it is a truck...
Anyway, the new challengers are nice. If I had the money I'd have one. Just make sure you get a 6.4l hemi and a 6 speed.

Really? Mine gets 35-40mpg on the freeway. Something's wrong with your nephew's car.
Yeah there is something wrong with it-it's a Chrysler.

Re: Dodge Challanger???

For the 40K+ that Challenger would cost you could buy a pretty nice C6...or a C5 Z06 and a Grand National.

Re: Dodge Challanger???

I've had mine for about 2 years. Always been a chevy/GM guy but thought the new Challenger looked more like the old challenger than the new Camaro looked like the old Camaro. It gets lots of looks but yes it is hard to see out of. Really like it but there is still nothing like the older cars!

Re: Dodge Challanger???

I like the idea of putting a 455 in your Cutlass and getting a small fuel efficient car. IMO the new Camaros, Mustangs, and Challengers are all ugly as sin. I have no idea what they were thinking making the doors 4 feet high :puke: :puke: :puke:

Lol- X2 I have a neighbor with a challenger who says its a real POS. heavy feeling, sucks in the snow, visibility is sh*t. Not practical at all. He said it has this couple second delay thing from the time you press the pedal to the time the car actually moves. I honestly like the way the car looks, but no way it worth all that for a good retro car.

I have heard of this in newer Chargers. Its an issue with the drive by wire system more than likely.

Thanks, I'll be sure to tell him next time i see him. That would drive me up a wall if I had to deal with it.

Exactly!!! I think about that all the time!
To be honest, in a weird way it reminds me of a cow. Whenever I talk about the sides of a Challenger, I feel like I should be calling them "the flanks."
That being said though, the Challenger is probably the most retro looking of the 3 ponycar throwbacks. Dodge executed it very well. Just as good if not better than Ford's first "retro styled" Mustang that started it all. The Camaro is (I hate to say it) just ugly. It's too sharp and angular like a concept car taken right off the page. It reminds me of the Corvette Stingray concept.

I'm from a GM family, but I have to admit that the Camaro is the last one I'd buy. Out of the 3, I appreciate the Challenger visually the most.
