I may throw the factory lid back on next trip along with a new dry flow reusable filter, which won't be for a long time. It will interesting to see if the shorty headers and 2.5" X pipe exhaust and 1.5" taller tires actually help mileage. I actually put back on the steel rims with skinnier 205/75R14's on the front 215/75R14's on the back. It should drop RPM's to 1750 at 60 MPH, so 70 MPH will be around the same as what 60 MPH was. We will see.

I am planning on adapting my sbc truck serpentine setup to the 260 and getting the A/C to work as well with it. I just need a CS130 serpentine alternator and adapter brackets.

How's that going to work? I really want to see pictures and a detailed description of that

Do you plan on using the SBF crank pulley?

A serpentine set up was factory on the Olds 4.3 V6 diesel, that is where the replacement reverse rotation water pumps come from. You can use the factory sbc bottom pulley but it needs ground down a hair or it contacts and the Olds bolt pattern drilled. The top pulley has the same pattern as the Olds diesel pump. The passenger side bolts on with two bolts and needs spaced out around an inch. Also the bottom triangle needs trimmed off the bracket. I may need more trimmed to clear the fuel pump. The driver side only one bolt lines up and also needs spaced out. I tried running it this way, it doesn't work, breaks the bolt at the most inconvenient time. Custom adapter brackets are the way to go and the Ford pulley needs the center welded the recut and drilled. Expect an update in the next month on all the details how to use this setup.

Much less paint and treated with rust converter.
