Better than starting with a $300 clapper and investing $10000 and 10000 hours to have a $500 clapper.
$7900 seems fair if it’s rust free.

It obviously has no collector value but, at least from the pics, looks like a nice car. A decent black paint job would cost most of the asking price. Gbodys aren't rare now but nice ones for $4000 are.

Its a nice car, but the 12.5k appraisal is based on it being a 442, which it is not.

Either way, it will probably sell for 7500.. Hell, Ive been offered more for my GP LE (and turned it down).

Any rust free g body can easily sell in that price range. Throw some tan buckets in there which is a non 442 color and some nice wheels and you will have a pretty decent looking car. Really getting sick of people price bashing people when they don't actually know the market.
Lol. You trying to sell.
G Body chassis are a dime a dozen

I DO know the market around here and it's unlikely to sell at/near that price. Remember, I live inland a bit in central Florida. NO RUST is standard from a car that lived its life here. Beachside is another story. Anyway, I'm not "bashing", just being realistic for this area.

Since it seems so in line with pricing for areas that DO see snow/salt/etc., let me know if anyone is interested and I will get with the guy and get lots more pics and lots more detail on the car mechanically.

Being a 87 also helps that car out a ton, IF that is a original paint car it was the first and only year that came with base coat clear coat paint, not lacquer which is what kills most g body cars.
That is an incomplete depiction. Pontiac-built Cutlasses got base/clear. Ste Therese-built 87 Cutlasses got lacquer. I know the 86 Buick GN for sure got base/clear because one of my shipmates got his GN totally repainted for free under warranty from GM because the clear coat was peeling like the car got a sunburn. As far back as I can recall, 1986 was the first year GM started to go wild with base/clear across most car lines. Some F cars even had "BC-CC" or something to that effect on the SPID. And it wasn't until about another 4 years later when they got it good enough not to peel off every time someone sneezed near the paint. Some cars held up, but some sucked donkey balls.

IIRC, Monte Carlos were still being built in Arlington after the Cutlass left for 86 model year, thus they still were shot with lacquer I do believe. I could be wrong on that because I don't follow Montes, even though I owned an 86 Monte SS new, and I seem to remember the DIS. LACQUER that was on the SPID. Montes joined the Cutlass in Pontiac for 87/88. I'm pretty sure they got coated with base/clear as well as there were no longer any mention of lacquer on the SPID.

Former employer had an 86GN, it was lacquer, and the upper panels had the checking to prove it. Looked good after we stripped it and painted it in BC/CC, new fillers and all.
