Drivers Door Hinge Detent Arm Roller

Steve, get your hinge off and remove the spring and disassemble it. Every one I’ve ever seen it’s the staked portion pulling out of the hinge arm. Once the spring is out, it'll flop around loose. Put it in a vise to clamp it back flat and level again, and if you have access to a welder, just put a couple of good hot tack welds on the staked portion. The roller itself very rarely comes apart or fails.

I just recently went through this rebuilding and repinning the drivers side hinges on Project Olds Cool. Best of all, it’s free other than replacing the other pins and bushings. (You ARE replacing the pins and bushings while you’re in there right??)
😉

thanks, that seems to be what I'll be doing....as far as the pin and bushings I'll take a look at them but the pins have no play in the bushings that I can see....I wish the recycling yards were open....
