Along with cowl hoods. Three things my car will never have is tucked tires, cowl hood or a sme Ls motor

And the car hooked quite well with the current suspension setup.....to the point where it'd lift the front driver wheel

There no such thing as "donked". It's not not a style. A donk is a specific make and model of automobile. It has absolutely nothing to do with suspension or wheels.

By one description. But actually the first "DONK" magazine I saw had a lifted 86 cutlass on the cover

Many people incorrectly have used the terminology over the years, even the press. Education never ceases, and I would be remiss to not inform you of the discrepancy. A G-body can't be a donk.

I also don't understand why a 4" lift would be needed to clear regular wheels and tires on a G-body.

Try bolting 295/50/15s with reverse offset 15x 10s on a stock suspension 86 cutlass and see what happens lol
