Dropped my tank,,,,,where to get one????

What is the cheapest place to get a fuel tank for a 1982 Regal?
It originally had a v-6 and now has a 350 chevy. I am not sure what to look for and I don't know what size the original engine was. What number on the VIN do I look at to find out??

doesn't matter what engine you have....all the G bodies have the same tank. I got a new one for $160 installed

find a junk yard, scrap it down, degrease the hell out of it, undercoat it for 15 and put it back on for less than 50 bucks i would assume.

try advance auto...I work at one in Nc, and been seeing more models availible... e-bay has some avail also....

would disagree with the junkyard crawl....may get one in worse shape....

Well mine was rusted at the seam. I couldn't fill it more than a 1/4 tank. I rather go new and not have to worry again. I seen 1 on ebay for $156, not sure if shipping is included but I may just pay $170 and order it local.

You will never find a gas tank for a 1982 in the junkyard, and if you do i would bet it would be rustier than hell. Why take a chance with a future gas leak just having to put another one in, besides they are only about $150 or so. Don't forget to get the straps too, they were only $25 when i bought mine.
