Ok this isnt a g body but it's my daily driver so I figured I would come to the best board for advice 😀 The car is a 1997 Cavalier base model. I recently blew out the right rear brake line that goes from the flex hose to the wheel cylinder. Well since rust sucks *ss I ended up replacing both rear wheel cylinders and the same section of brake line on each side. I go to bleed the brakes and realize that the rear brakes arent grabbing at all now even though there is no more air coming out of the bleeders. The drums have little resistance when free spinning so I know they are adjusted right. When I filled the master cylinder up it took ALOT of brake fluid but im not getting any air out of the bleeders just streams of brake fluid. Any ideas? I rely on this car and it has me stumped :|

I think I got an idea here. Since my brake fluid was REALLY low should I bleed the master cylinder? Im just spit balling here but it makes sense in my head.

On most GM distribution blocks, there is a button on one end. Push it to re-center the safety feature that closes off the low pressure side if you blow out a brake hose. Biases the brake pressure to where your brake are working. Kinda like a posi in your brake system! 😉

did you bleed the fronts at all? and you said you did adjust the rear brakes. i know the last time that happend to me i had to bleed all 4 brakes

yes, bench bleed the master, it can't hurt

Ok how do you bleed these style master cylinders? It has 4 hardlines going to the master cylinder and 2 bleeders in the front plus all the connectors.

I havent bled the fronts yet...

I didn't have an answer but found this looking for it
