Yes, too much drama here these days. I know several "veterans" of this site are thinking of leaving, because of all the drama about the big wheels, opinions not being welcomed, slurs, and the immaturity of some of the members. I don't lose sleep at night about a da*n internet post, although it seems some do.

Not sure what I can do about the "drama" or convincing people to stay because they don't like it. I've made my policies on the site pretty clear as of late. Check the stickies and announcements on each forum's page.

I'm unaware of the "slurs" you speak of, if this is so, please PM or e-mail me. Give me post URL's so I can see what you're talking about.

Opinions are always welcome, but much like *ssh*les (as the addage goes), everyone has one, but that doesn't mean you need to show it to everyone whether or not they want to see it.

but, it cuts both ways.... papabearxl is also correct when he says, "If someone posts something on here, it's out there for praise, or criticism. Point blank." You ask for opinions, get them, don't like it, and then this sh*t starts all over again. boo frickin hoo. That's just how it is.

I've contemplated locking these last few threads, and handing out vacations for those who seem intent on doing nothing but stirring the pot up. But, like the last few posts here demonstrate, cooler heads keep trying to bring things back around to civility.... so I haven't yet. I guess I need to just start locking these things up from the first comment... I dunno. Damned if you do, damned if you don't.

As for the immaturity, well, welcome to the internet, I guess. Forums is as forums does. Been that way since the dawn of USENET. Not much I can do about that. All I can say is drown 'em out with quality posts, then.

Like I said above, if there are legit problems with people on the site, or with the site in general, e-mail or PM me, and I will look at things on a case-by-case basis. A one-off post probably won't get anyone in hot water, but a pattern of being a douche just might. "he said he doesn't like my wheels!!" isn't going to get any sympathy from me, however.

Don't really want to see anyone leaving, but that's the nature of the game. People come in, they move on, for whatever reason.... Again, not a lot I can do about it, but I can listen to your complaints and suggestions.

I dont see a problem with someone posting an opinion about my car, or any car for that matter. i think the problem lies when the comment made isnt constructive in nature. Meaning, many just bash a certain group (all car with what they consider "big wheels"). then although most of the thread could contain positive comments, or someone who can learn from, draw from, or appreciate that style of car, the thread gets locked because of all the negativity...

in my opinion, if a person posts a thread about a particular thing, not asking for specific opinion or input (as to whether or not someone likes their car, etc.) then someone shouldnt start post whoring their thread with a bunch of negativity, like some sort of highschool fight. that seems to be the excuse, if you post something "your asking for the good and the bad". Bullshit. it feels good to share your dream, goal, passion, etc. with those who can appreciate it and feels good at times to hear positive things (never know what someone is going through)... i dont even want to get into being culturally insensitive. you dont post your cars, etc. to hear the "good and the bad". i truly feel that if someone posts a thread sharing a car or several that they like (and are not asking for criticism, or opinions, especially those that r not constructive), then a person should not post negativity, just click on it, if u dont like it, move on... sometimes opinions are not welcome  Its like inviting someone to your house and opening your doors to them; they walk inside and start pissing all over your couch, your prob gonna get mad (and then they respond by, well you shouldnt have welcomed me in to your house)...

a wheel is a wheel, if its not on a race car, its pretty much for looks... i want a 1100 hp motor and a 20x18" wheel on the back of my project! thats a massive wheel, as long as my car doesnt fall apart on me when i drive down the road or track, then im all good, it prob wont run around the race track all "nimbly", and every single thing on it wont be for function, but i will love it, as with many others (if I accomplish my goal) 😀

sorry post so long, venting a little after a stressful week... keep doing your thing...

now i have to chime in! i cant say i care about what type of wheels are on a car. i cant say i care about the paint or the interior or anything else! what i care about is the craftsmanship and the pride that is put into these cars! guys like elco warren and korrupt that put a ton of effort into their cars and are passionate about them! and dont think that i forgot ls and melman, i come on this site just to see the updates on their cars! if someone runs a different kind of wheel than me , who cares! if someone has a different idea of what a gbody should be than i do , so be it! i dont dislike anyone for having different taste in cars than i do! that is just dumb! i read the posts and am blown away by the effort put into these cars! whether or not the car has big wheels has no meaning to me!

My statement that huge rims look stupid on G-body cars was my opinion, not said with malice toward the owners or any such thing. I said what I would have said if we'd been at a show somewhere and there were 20 of them. I tell the guys that all the time around here, and they call mine a grandpa car, well hell, it is a grandpa's car so I don't get mad. We laugh and poke fun and move on. Obviously they don't like them semi stock or pro street or whatever or theirs would be that way. They like the Donk style and candy wrapper paint schemes and that's their business, as thinking they look silly is my business. We don't fight about it, we just disagree and have different tastes. That's still allowed so far. As for keyboard cowboys, it's usually the guy pointing them out that has the intimate understanding of the term.

I come from the school of constructive criticism....whereby, if you have nothing positive to say...you just dont say anything...why waste the time to tell the world why you dont like something...when the world doesnt care? Isnt there enough bigotry and hate in the world already without it being needlessly thrown into forums because some of us are old fashioned and some of us are HIP. Respecting the differences between cultures in our society is what makes this county such a great place to live, or at least it used to....

I HATE little, medium, and big wheels. Why cant we just hover?
On a serious note though how do you get a stance like the one on the MC SS?

Where is the bigotry at in all this? If you don't like big rims, are you saying that person is racist? I hope not.

Did I say racism? Did I call anybody a Racist? I merely pointed out that we are all different and those differences should be respected, even if we dont subscribe to the idealogy and that expressions of distain or unapproval should be kept out of the forum if the people submitting it cannot do so without demeaning those they have disagreements with.
"A bigot is a person obstinately or intolerantly devoted to his or her own opinions and prejudices, especially one exhibiting intolerance, and animosity toward those of differing beliefs..." wikipedia

My apologies in asking the question. But that was just what it was...a question.
In my area, bigot is always deemed as meaning a racist.
