I dyed the interior of a monza I had about 15 years ago. Worked great.

It was an original red interior. But most of it was faded or wrecked. So I went to the junkyard and got green door panels, one brown and one black armrest, brown visors, brown console, green shifter plate, and cut out a chunk of red carped from a car to replace the worn out spot under the gas pedal.

I cleaned everything good, went over all the non-fabric with a scotch-brite pad, and then wiped it with rubbing alcohol. Then I used many light (and I mean very light) coats and it turned out great. Everything matched, it looked like it just came from the factory. I drove the car for about 10 years, and only had two problems. A small spot on the console eventually wore away a bit (smaller than a dime), but this was probably after 6-7 years. And if you don't know what a monza is, its basically a Vega, but better. And the door panels have carpet alont the bottom 4 inches. Being such a small car, my feet usually rubbed against this carpet, and every 2-3 years it would fade off. But a quick touch up and it was all good again.

But no other problems. I was worried that the dye would come off on my clothes, but it never happened.

I cant remember what brand I used. But it was the cheap stuff from Canadian Tire.

So have no worries, if you clean it good and do thin coats. It will turn out great.

Sem is the only one to use, dont use duplicolor's dye, it flakes off. do what rockstar said. this was my 93 blazer below, it used to have a blue interior, i swapped seats and door panels, but could have died them just as well too. you can do carpet with it also, just use a small brush as you spray to loosen the pile.

i usually suede or tweed the headliner and recover the seats to match. But you can use the die as well on your oem headliner & seat.

I figure Im gunna do an almost complete custom interior. maybe leave the dash the same but I want to make door panels and put in late model custom bucket seats. and some sorta center console.
