It's time to change my brake pads. The Green EBC pads (nothing to do with tree huggers) were recommended for these cars but now the Red pad is being recommended. I'm running 2nd gen camaro brakes up front and like the green so I got them again but I am wondering if any of have used the Red EBC pads and what do you think about them.

red will dust like crazy..i have green on my 3/4 ton avalanche and they stop great.....green is street yellow is like 4x4 heavy duty and red are like pro pads full race type deal....and dust the most.

I agree that's what the red used to be but they seemed to have changed their compounds cause the 2000 series that used to be suggested for our cars is now advertised for "Greenstuff 2000 series for sport compact and hot hatches" and the reds are now foir"faster cars above 200BHP the 09 version on EBC Redstuff sets new standards in brake performance". I stayed with the greens cause the old compound is still available. The green pads cost me $95 so I don't want to be the test pilot on the red ones..

dont blame ya you will be happy with the greens they work great on my truck....

I have used the greens for a few years and they have saved me body work a few times. I was only wondering about EBC changing their recommendations. I hate to ask but what do you pay for the pads...

when i did my truck last year i spent around 800 and that was for the rotors and pads from ebc ill have to look it up to break it down i want to say the pads are around 125 ish for my truck not really sure.

 800 bucks for pads and rotors did you do the calipers too?

That's a lot for just pads and rotors...

it's not when you really need to stop....

Dave, no need to look it up, I checked online for the pads I wanted and it was about $35 cheaper in the US but I forgot your's is for a truck so you are probably using the 6000 or 7000 series

its a 3/4 ton truck with large rotors and pads so to me it was not alot as the rotors are slotted and dimpled which is what porchse does on there rotors not cross drilled.

well when your towing 9,000 lbs you like to be able to stop everytime and i do so to me its worth everypenny cause whern it comes to brakes and tires never cheap out.
