For those of you that had issues with the filler neck on the Spectra tank did you use the GN tank or the Monte FI tank?

It looks like they're the same part number so I believe both have the issue.

It looks like they're the same part number so I believe both have the issue.

The tank without the filler tube is the same number so I am guessing the only difference between the GM306C for the Monte and the GM307C for the GN is the filler tube.
So I am wondering is it just an issue with the Monte one.

IIRC they didn't have a Monte Carlo FI tank with the fill neck available when I bought mine about five years ago so I used the Buick tanks. When I replaced the fill neck I found one from a V6 FI Monte Carlo in a bone yard and was able to cut it out with a cold chisel. I tack welded the neck to the new tank then soldered it in to seal it. Most radiator shops can solder the neck in if your tank is new.

Do these new Spectra tanks have the same dimensions as the original tanks?
