In tank pump on a GN/TBI Monte sender gets you a 5/16" return that goes down to the pump inlet instead of the 1/4" vent at the top. The baffling in the tank helps a bunch, too.
When I did the 5.3 last year I went with a new baffled tank a new sending unit and a A/M Walboro 255 pump I strung new high pressure braided line with AN fittings for the feed and used the original line for the return (low pressure) and left the vent tube to the charcoal can in place and removed the canister and put a aquarium bubblier stone in the end as a filter. Ran all summer as a daily and really happy with it.
I did take the charcoal canister out and tucked the hose in underneath the fender so you don't see anythingI do not want to leave the charcoal canister in place since there is no line coming from the "carb". The omission cops they have in Ontario would not understand there is no need for the line since the efi has a return line and issue me a $380 ticket.
Not to hijack the thread, but where do people find sending units with 3/8 lines instead of 5/16?
