I've been around two Sniper installs and both worked as they were supposed to. It's good to see you post about your experience that is something other than internet warriors repeating others' bad experiences. I use the term 'bad' loosely because the majority of Holley issues are the result of the installer.

FB has really hurt Holley Sniper imo. And it's working on hurting TermX as well. I'm yet to hear of anyone being abandoned by Holley and getting the shaft. And there are many cases of Holley taking care of issues that were created by the end user for free. The biggest actual issue I've found is that Holley tech support developed very long wait times during the 1st 6-12 months of the pandemic due to lack of tech guys at work at Holley.

But, power, ground, and reading and following instructions are hard.

Truth is: it really is for most people.

Everyone wants 1000hp out of a box with "just add water and mix" level of effort and attention to detail. And then adopt a "I paid my money, I demand results" attitude when it goes sideways.

The Sniper seems like a good solution for most folks with mild combinations.

My experiences with Holley has been nothing but amazing! I agree they have some issues with the product but mostly are improper installation or supporting systems like old wiring and grounds, ignitions, alternators...
I am putting an X-Flow, 8 injector on the black and orange car and running it on methanol. Actually I am going to have two fuel systems on the car. One methanol (to race) and one gas. Gas will be used for warm up, idling around and shut down at the end of the day to clean all the methanol out of the Throttle body and engine to prevent corrosion. 383ci N/A bracket car runs 6.50's

That is one computers need, nice clean electcity. An older stock altrnator can produce dirty power that will freak out a computer. Plus there are issues with EMI and RFI which can also freak out an ECM, its why sensor location and where you run the wires is critical.

Have a standard Holley sniper on a sbc 383 and couldn’t be happier. Starts right up whether it’s 15 degrees out or 98. And this is coming from years of me being a dyed in the wool Holley carb guy.

I find the biggest issues are with people who have worn engines with shoddy wiring and slap on an aftermarket efi. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve had people blame the efi for running like crap and insist they don’t have any vacuum or exhaust leaks, only for me a do a smoke test and find a pinhole sized leak upstream of the O2 on brand new headers with crap welds.
