The picture you showed isnt the actual switch, just the lever. You need the switch that goes inside the steering column. If you dont know how to do it, or dont want to mess with it, you could just buy the part and have a shop install it, shouldnt take more than an hour.

kool, thats what Im thinking it is.....Do you know what that switch looks like? part # 1980 el camino

But thanks for all the help guys...so fridays my day off and I will be abel to get to that..hopefully its the switch that goes inside the steering column....

thanks alot all you g body peeps...I will keep u updated...
keep posting if you think its something else....

Check Rockauto and be sitting down when you see the prices. The switch for a tilt column delay switch is over $100, others are a bit cheaper. Be sure which one you need, there are 4 for your year car. You still didn't say what system you have, standard, delay, tilt, non-tilt? You can test the switch by opening the under-column harness connector and ground the grey wire on the dash side.

That would be it.

Kool.. i think i seen that below the steering column not connected....lol...theres on down there thats not connected....LMAO....I think the one thats not connected goes to the AC...but i discontinued my AC unit...lol...and i think i seen a long one hanging too....OMg...i really need to look again...i was looking under there this morning but couldnt find where those wires went.....

Ok if it is not connected....lol....where will it go connected to under the dash where all the wires go? diagram?

If it is...then i will need to by a STUPID sh*t myself....lol...so if its not connected is thats why im not getting power from my fuses wiper?

No, that's the directionals switch. It's connector hooks onto 2 tabs near the ignition switch. The wiper harness is smaller, 4 (standard) or 5 (delay) wires and in your case should be black, pink, grey, purple. It just hangs there, but as I stated, your car should have had the wiper switch on the dash. Is there one there or an empty hole or maybe it's a newer dash? If someone put a later column in then they had to run the wiper switch wires on down to the bottom of the column to reach the column harness. Or maybe they didn't?!? And Rockauto does not list a switch for your car, which I take to mean the dash switch is not available. Image won't load but here is a selection of column mounted switches for my car, just click in "more info" for a picture.http://www.rockauto.com/catalog/x,carcode,1246935,parttype,4856
