I have dual fans and i first bought the Hayden 3647 and it worked fine for a little while and then crapped out and i really didn't drive my car at all i read up on the Hayden one and a lot of people had trouble with them so i was told to buy this one http://www.summitracing.com/parts/DER-16749/ witch looks similar to the Hayden but so far i haven't had any issues and i also connected an override switch just in case the fan control fails i can just manually turn it on.

JBrue, what engine temp do you want to run? With a 160º thermostat the oil won't get up to proper operating temp and if you use a 180º thermostat the fans will be on constantly with a 185º on 170º off switch

So I guess Im killing my engine. With an OEM In tank Radiator Oil Cooler, External Oil Cooler and a 160F Hi-Flo thermostat. Been running this setup for a year or two. Commuting thur Atlanta during the Hot and Cold daily. Probably 20,000 miles on this Setup. Heat out the heater was hot enough too.

During some research most Oil Manf. suggest 212F. I never and will never run my hot rod that hot. 210F is fine in my book for friends cars. But not in my toys. I like mine on the Cool side, maybe it the Drag racer in me.

Oil is normally approximately 10-15º hotter than your water temp so by your own research your oil is too cool to do the job it was intended to do. Corvettes and some F bodies come with a switch to turn on the cooling fan at 240º. Also with a cool engine your running rich and you loose performance so I'm not sure about drag racers liking a engine running too cool. On our circle track car the engine oil temp is usually at 260 during race conditions

I have a 180 Degree thermostat and I will be using two seperate temp. sending units, low speed 185 on/170 off and for the high speed 210 on/195 off.....I also have on order this: http://stores.therelaycenter.com/-strse ... Detail.bok From Jabin, he's a member on a few other sites......Once I get this all in, I will add pics and update...

I made my own kit, instead of a relay I used a 75amp continuous duty solenoid and a thremo-switch be cool, Beware of the no brand thermo switches, they tend to be very inaccurate. another good thing i like with the solenoid is that i brought it at Oreilly's auto. or at least carry a spare 75amp relay since they are not common

Can you give us the part # for that 75 amp solenoid ....I would like to check out that since to put a Mark VIII fan on both vehicles.......

a solenoid is relay....but I'm glad you mentioned it cause I never thought of using a ford type solenoid for the fan..
