I want to remove my stock fan set up and run an electric fan. I need to find out how much CFM I need. I'm also going to remove the stock fan shroud, does anyone know what type of brackets they make for the upper radiator supports?

I have a 2,750 CFM single 16" for mine. It does well, it keeps the temp. at 180* in hot (85-90*) in town driving.

Since it's a single, I just kept the stock shroud to help with airflow.

Alright... what brand is it? I just wanted to make sure I'd get something that could move enough air. If that set up works for you then I think I'm going to run somthing similar. Thanks 😀

I don't remember the brand. It's a kit I picked up on eBay. It was only around $45-50 with shipping.

Hi,

I am using an electric fan from a 3rd Gen F-Body. I only had to dril four mounting holes at the support (used all of the stock camaro brackets and shroud). A friend ran one in a Monte and didn't even have to drill any holes it was a direct bolt in. It works great. My guess is a dual fan set-up would work, but I have yet to aquire one.

This is of course a low buck option. If you are going for that big dollar custom look this does not work. But cleaned-up and maybe painted they look really good, and completely stock.

Just a suggestion,

Stoopud

Thanks for the tips you guys! I've been looking around for something like what you were talking about... I have a couple of ideas, I think I'm going to make an aluminum shroud and cut it for a couple of fans. I still think I'll need two fans move enough air.

get a radiator hold down from a 78-80 GP, i think cutlasses had them too. they just use a metal top plate and the shroud bolts to it seperately. alot of guy use these and bolt LT1/LS1 camaro dual fans to them. works perfect.

The 4th Gen Camaro LS1 Fans are the perfect size for the G-Body Radiator. I think I paid $100 for mine. I have not mounted it yet, but it looks like it would be fairly easy to make a couple of brackets.
