Electric "Muscle" Cars

You do understand that, no, this doesn't directly do anything, but is supposed to be a business "incentive" (bc $$$ is the language) to clean up their act. Do you really believe that its actually going towards something else? Cute.

Ya know I got to thinking, only an educated EV buyer is going to realize where the tax incentive does/does not apply. Over time this will likely become common knowledge. It incentivizes the (educated) buyer more so than the manufacturer. Or was there something else in there that more directly incentivized the manufacturer as well?

apples and oranges. I was referring to the thought that the carbon tax/whatever on companies was actually going directly to combating GW.

but yeah, that needs to be made clear to the consumer as well, what qualifies and doesn't. That "educated" is a thing, too.

We could harvest the methane from all the cows and have that too. 😉
My wife let me know that it made my breath bad, so I quit harvesting it 😉

That's brilliant.

But, there is lots of nuance being overlooked. Pollution is controllable, climate is destabilized by it... but, over the last 1000 years the Earth has done some interesting crap regardless of what our nuisance has caused in the last 200.

Here's some info showing we don't need to go crazy on cleaning things up & backs my theory that the Earth with do as it please & can in a faster time self clean the air. It is possible to still run our evil ICE cars with the option to have EV where it does make sense by population or infrastructure support. There is a balance in the world that can be held but it will require certain areas to pull their share to make things work. In place of making the first world countries to push it on their population maybe with out being over (forcefully) supportive, help the third world nations get their air quality under better control. From my view, fossil fuels can't disappear from the landscape anytime in our childrens lifetime. What we really need is the world leaders to step back from the extreme fixes & work within reason to allow technology to work at realistic pace, not this cart before the horse stuff going on. Best to remove the fear motivation cause it just makes loons that claim we are years/months/days/hours from total doom. The Earth has been way hotter than what it is now in the past several time, it has also gotten pretty cold. It has even done its own population control before we or some of our ancestors ever set a foot on its surface. Just remember humans piss of the Earth enough, she'll make sure we don't make that mistake again. Even if we all are driving EV's.

Down here we have a government standard, NHTSA FMVSS141. It basically says that we must at least be able to hear them coming.

I kid you not, EV buyers are already complaining about not being able to just turn off their fake engine sounds.

Maybe the EV manufacturers will replace the fake Vrooom Vroooms with the vibrating buttplug hum that buyers are more accustomed to.
Better yet find that harmonic frequency that makes you crap your pants.

Apparently the fake engine sounds are because that's what Europe requires. NHTSA doesn't specify the noise. But while Europe allows it to be turned off, NHTSA doesn't.
