My motor is running funny, it just doesnt sound right so its been parked .The other day my friend and i had the car running for a couple of minutes, and after i shut it off he noticed that 2 of the tubes on the header were cold #3 and #5. So we pulled the #3 and #5 spark plug out, and saw it was ok but a little foul, so we replaced it and still the motor running funny. So he pulled one of the plugs out and put his finger in the hole and had me turn the engine over and nothing, he said it was suppose to blow his finger away but didnt we also took the valve cover off to see if there was any issue with a rocker, due to maybe a valve not working but everything was good nothing loose and all rockers moving evenly. So he said there isnt any compression to the #3 and #5 piston what can i check or what you think can be wrong.

Headgasket blew between the cylinders is my guess. How does your oil look? Milky? I would put a compression gauge on it for sh*ts and giggles and see what it reads.

have you taken off the valve covers to make sure the rockers aren't the problem, if the valves are not opening you won't get compression. Chris is probably right but you never know til you check

Oil isn't milky its normal. I took the valve cover off and turned the engine on and he checked the rockers as the engine is running to see if any were not lifting equally or loose they were all equal and not loose.I was told by some other people as well it might be my head gasket.

The head gasket just doesnt seal coolant so it can travel form the block to the heads, it seal compression as well. THe coolant seal is fine on yer motor thats whay there is no evidence of a coolant leak. The gasket may be blown between the the two ajasent cylinders. Could be burnt valves or cracked pistons ya will have to pull her apart to find out. If ya keep drivin er and it is the headgasket blown between the two cylinders the deck of the block will up.

I'm going to take the head off and have a pro check it. I'm not driving the car its been parked for almost a month when I take the head off before I take it to a pro what should I look for when I take it off since some of you say head gasket.

You need to check around and between the two cylinders that have no compression. It will be obvious if the gasket is blown. Gasket will look burned. Like I stated above it is probably blown between the two. In that case you will definitely know when you lift the head that something is wrong. A piece of gasket between the two cylinders may be missing. You will know. As far as a general check up look for pitting in the heads and block. The heads you can just haul in and have them inspected by a machine shop. Check all along the surface of the block for pits. Pay close attention between the two cylinders having the no compression problem. The other thing you can do, if you have a straight edge. Certified straight, not a ruler. You can place it across several areas of the block and look for warping of the deck surface. But most likely the gasket either let go from age, heads are warped or cracked. Over heated it lately?

Looked at your parts list, Was the block assembly something you bought, that had been sitting? I have seen rings that had been sitting that won't seal, because they seize on the piston, regardless of lube. Is the cam "that" different firing order? Did this come after build up, or "just started" happening?

Ok thanks i will check and no it never has over heated as soon as it started running funny I parked and haven't used it.

I bought the car with this motor in it the guy told me it was built a year before by a guy who he bought it from. The problem started after a cruise I went on with other montes then I parked it and that's it.
