If your engine is sludged up then it's time to move on. Either replace the engine or the vehicle. I was working under the assumption the two replacement engines were either running in a vehicle (hear it run, see oil pressure) or were out of the vehicles and the oil pan could easily be removed. In the absence of either, you're working totally on trust.

I should know for sure today. My friend says that he has to pull the engine i guess. Ill be talking to him today when we take the vehicle over. Even if he does have to pull them you are 100% correct on looking at the pan if possible i really should see it. Again i appreciate your help and advice. I have slim Pickens.
