I'm in Wisconsin the temp today is about 74 degrees today. I didn't have the original fan setup. I purchase the fan off Ebay and clutch from advance auto. ill take another look at fan blade tomorrow. I should know but at this moment I've forgotten. its been awhile it maybe more than 5

200 isn't hot, especially if like was said above, you're running a 195 t-stat.

what radiator do you have in the car?

Was the 200 reading from a stock gauge or aftermarket?

that good to know. but why are both hose so hard, that's what's worrying me. i hate to burst a hose while out driving around

Are you using a fan shroud? Makes a pretty big difference.

Also, where did the probe for the temp go into the engine...head or intake?

You might consider buying an inexpensive infrared thermometer, they're pretty handy for locating hotspots and verifying temps at rad, etc..

yes to fan shroud. temp probe is located on intake. the intake is a Edelbrock if that matters. harbor freight sells a infare thermometer are they reliable

That is a good radiator, should be plenty. Check the blade count and thermostat rating. The 403 and 455 due tend to run on the warm side. Yeah 74 is far from Summer heat. I had a Sunpro temp gauge read 10 degrees high.
