Hey guys I put in a chevy 5.7 and I'm taking out my 2004r and was wondering will a turbo 350 fit in my '87 Cutlass without any modifications?
Thanks!

It depends on the tail housing, if you have the 6" housing, you'll be OK. You will need to change the crossmember, as the trans mount is @ 27 15/16 on the 200 vs. 22 1/4 on the 350 (measured from the bell housing)

Are you referring to a short tail or long tail?

The 350 has 3 different tail housings, 6,9 or 12, You either need the 6" or cut the drive shaft to fit the one you have. Either way, your cross member mount will be in the wrong place, so you need to move it to bolt to the 350.

Thats what I was wondering. Why step backwards to a three speed when you have a 4 speed overdrive. Quicker due to more efficient ie less power loss and better gearing, lower engine saving rpms on the highway, and about a 1/3 better mileage. I believe my 509ci 442 would have gotten 12mpg instead of the 17mpg I got on a trip with the 200-4R. (1/3 or 4 mpg + 1 mpg for the lock up converter) Right now Lonnie is running a special where you can even get a street strip build with no core charge guaranteed to 10.90s et for $1,295 from http://www.extremeautomatics.com/transm ... 2004r.html I mean if your 200-4R is bad you have no funds and you have a good th350 then you gotta do what ya gotta do.
