Haven't been to the track for years but a lot of folks saying that they lost too much money from the dragstrip portion of the facility and leasing out to Copart for car storage.

Just read that an insurance company bought it and made them an offer they couldn't refuse. They stored cars damaged during hurricane sandy there and apparently its the perfect location for their business. Nothing to do with people complaining about noise. Just got offered a sh*t ton of money.

I figured a neighborhood was encroaching so ran a google map. From 30K feet up I saw multiple in ground swimming pools and said "the track is screwed". Drag racing and outdoor swimming usually happen at the same time.
I zoomed in and street viewed the closest house to the track. There was a Snap On truck in his driveway... "well he's not bitching".
Went up the street and it only took a few houses to see a Prius in the driveway and they had an in ground pool.
Its over.

The rumors have been going on for years, sadly there is some truth in it. I wonder though, why just the drag racing? And better yet, the swap meet is held in the pits of the 1/4 mile, so what exactly are they leasing? Something smells fishy, like they don't want to deal with insuring the racing anymore? Maybe a 3rd party can come in and run drag racing there. Just pay to lease, and they handle the insurance.

A mosque has been trying to acquire land near the strip for years, even though the town has repeatedly told them there are much quieter places they would probably be happier with. A sad day none the less. Glad there will still be swapmeets, but watch as there is a serious upswing in street racing and they wont know where its coming from...

This sucks Lauren literally cried! And I promised Lexi I would take her to night of thrills again that's like are thing f-ing scumbags I want to go burn a Prius with a tree hugger in it! Everyone should go raise hell in the mcmansion neighbors around the track it's there fault the drag strip wasn't making enough money it was only open wendsday Friday Saturday and Sunday because of noise ordinances the local yuppies put in place in the 80s when they built there ugly cooky cutter houses I hope they die hungry so I can breathe there air f-ing scumbags I'd love to tell them how I really feel but I'm trying to be civil.
