Even God doesn't like the Olds 260

Shoulda dropped in a sbc, then you wouldn't need stickers.
I would have rather pushed it off a cliff. Plus, I wouldn't be able to see the car through the cloud of blue smoke with a sbc in there🙂. The 424 SBO should push 450 HP/500 ft/lbs and also need a TH400 trans, this TH350 would last a day behind it. Only so many $$$, the 70S is priority this year and maybe the next as well.

I am curious what the price tag would be on a 450 HP 424 stroker SBO?

Let me see $600 shipped for the off set ground 330 forged stroker crank. I picked up a used set of custom Venolia 4.390" bore pistons on 6" sbc Scat rods for $400 shipped. Now I just need machine work, balance and a girdle around $1000 or so. I have #6 heads fully ported 2"/1.625" valves, positive seals with Comp dual springs, paid $800 used, still on my 350 but coming off. I plan adding 2.075" intake valves and polishing chambers 60+ cc, new seals and any guides needing redone, another few hundred dollars for 10 to 1 compression. Custom cam/lifters $400 shipped. Already have Performer RPM intake, 1.72 full roller rocker arms and push rods. Either a new Slayer, Street Demon 750 or custom 800 cfm Qjet, all around the same price. I also will upgrade from 1 5/8" shorties to 1 3/4" shorties. Plus $200 for head gaskets and around the same for the 7qt pan and $100 more for an oil pump and pick up. Maybe 4 grand total but have many parts towards it's completion. I will probably pick up the 5 main Halo girdle and get the caps milled this year.

Custom cam/lifters $400 shipped.
I am guessing these are flat tappets for that price.
Did you not see any benefit in going with an aftermarket aluminum head or were they just too pricey?

Flat tappet, about another $300 or so for a roller. Procomp heads at 240 cfm intake should be close to these iron heads with the bigger intake valve. I may go that route but also have to switch to a electric fuel pump as well due to over hang on the head. I just need to decide if $1000+ is worth it.

Easy to get me twisted, just mention the sbc going into my car, that will do it🙂. It actually bothers me a lot less these days. With the LS motors around and cheap, sbc guys know how we feel, get rid of that out dated junk, go LS as it is the new cheap, go to power plant.
