F41 jounce bars standard on Olds?

what do the bars actually do? i thought they were support incase of a accident :?:

They are there more for trying to strengthen an already weak frame design.

It's great our G-body's have a full frame under them but it's one of the weakest pieces of junk. Anything you can do to add strength and rigidity to them helps a ton.
 
Do a search . There is a well laid-out write up on what bars go where and also it has how to add granprix bar as well as weld a cross bar on the jounce to create a "double Brace.
 
thanks for the offer I just finished workin on the car and looked ... I already have those :wink: but really thanx I never herd them called that.
 
Just checked underneath my 81 Grand Prix LJ and it has the GP bar but no jounce bars. It also has the thicker front sway bar but no rear sway bar. I'll be headed for the wrecking yard tomorrow to get those off of an 85 Olds Cutlass that has the F41 suspension package. The Olds has the factory tach and 305 4 barrel. Let me know if anyone needs the instrument cluster.
