Im talking with a guy on Facebook and he is trying to sell me a posi unit with 2.73 in it. Was this an option?

Yep, that was the "performance" ratio for most cars so they are out there. Alot of V6 Malibu wagons & El Caminos would of had them too. Could be the same for the BOP wagons.

I thought just SS and GN had them.

The SS had 3.42 first then the 3.73, GN's not 100% but should(?) used no higher than the 3.42. GN guys will correct if I'm wrong. Like I said it was an option across all four divisions.

All of the 83-87 Turbo Buicks had the 3.42 ratio.
On the 78-80 Chevrolet A body 4 speed cars the 2.73 ratio was the standard ratio.

I have the factory build sheet for my 79 malibu 4 speed. It came with a 2.73 posi. So glad it has 3.42 now. Any way yes factory g bodys could be had with posi 2.73.

Yup, any ratio available was also available as a posi. I've even seen cars that had a 2.14 posi from the factory.
