problem with those headers is I have to run cats... was told I can not run dual cats ... Here`s a pic of my exhaust ... I am really hating the thought of going back to stock .. Or at least running a Caprice style exhaust

put an X-pipe in and at the X put a large bolt in cat after inspection remove it and bolt in your bypass pipes

I feel sorry for you.thank god Oklahoma doesn't have emission testing cause there's a lot of muscle cars that would be hurt by it especially gbodys.

Its almost useless for states to require 30+ year old cars to pass this kind of stuff. Not many people drive them daily, usually someone has put a lot of love into keeping it going and they normally run better then your average mid 90s Honda spewing crap out of it. The time they spend laying the hammer down on a handful of old cars that have paid their dues for emissions just because of age could be better spend regulating newer cars

Nice looking motor. Too bad you have to mess it up for emissions

How strict are they on the parts. I know you need manifolds and a y for a 2 in to 1 system. But if you could use bigger manifold and have extruded. Then a nice 2.25 mandrel Y pipe in a 3 inch high flow cat and 3 inch catback.
ram horns would be the best bet. But I think you will need to stick with logs.

Yeah I thought they could not fit. But was not sure. What about the Chevelle ones that are sweet back. Anybody try them ?

I have a set mid '70's with the cast in "spreader bars" that will go on. The GM parts catalogs list '78's (all 4 brands) using the earlier drivers side & the later passenger side & the B.O.P.'s using both. I have even seen them listed in my '64-'72 Holinder Chevelle interchange book. There should be a Y pipe for them (NOS?) For ram horns, it may be possible to use '64-'67 Chevy II/Nova units as they have an angled dump & seems shorter. Keep in mind this is just a theory.

Wouldn't the edlebrock tes emission headers be a better deal then factory manifold then you can focus the attention to the exhaust underneath the car.
