Something just doesnt look right about it to me. I need some answers as soon as i can get em if at all possible. Thanx in advance.

Those are the same that were put in camaros and im sure other cars. If im right which im pretty sure i am those t tops were not factory but in fact were an aftermarket conversion done by the dealer or owner when the car was new. I know choo choo customs did some of the ones in the camaros but not sure how many gbodys they did. The camaro versions are noticable smaller to with a wider area in front of the windshield. Early fox body mustangs also got this treatment. They work just fine aside from that wide area makes them a little goofy. Also good luck getting the ribbed seals that go under the tops. I tore down a camaro with them and nothing is the same as the normal factory tops

Those look like the "Hurst Hatch" kit tops. Search the site, there was a guy a couple years back selling a complete kit and there was some discussion about it 😀 .... It was an aftermarket kit made by Hurst. They did the factory tops in the pre '78 cars, and carried these kits on thru for a while (not sure for how long.) Good luck finding parts! This would be the first one I've seen that actually had them installed!

Yep those are aftermarket tops. The factory tops are much larger. Look out for rattles and wind/water leaks, and also may be hard to find replacement weatherstripping. Car looks pretty sharp though!

The factory tops are pretty much glass from one side of the car to the other.

These are factory.

i would personally stay away from a car with this type of aftermarket kit on it. they just seem to more of a headache then anything else.... i'm all for t-tops and sunroofs but only when done by factory. God forbid you have a need for replacement seals or somthing.....

I like T-tops in my weekend Hurst/Olds, but I have been looking for non-T-tops for my daily driver. There are two types of T-tops, ones that leak, and ones that WILL leak. Of course, they can be re-sealed, but that's just more money. Also, no matter how good the car, how well you factory brace it, they will also rattle some (though new seals go a long way to help that).

Those do look like the 70's Hurst/Olds T-tops, or perhaps a kit like mentioned above. I'd personally steer clear, unless they are set up in a way that could maybe be enlarged later to standard T-tops for a G-body.

There was a company that did these aftermarket that was call Cars & Customs. You definitely DO NOT want to buy a car with one of their kits because it's impossible to get new weatherstripping for them.
At least the factory GM tops have weatherstripping kits available.

The C&C tops are different from both of these. I have the C&C kit on mine....

Thanks for all the responses guys. I'm glad I talked to you guys first, I wanted it kinda bad, but now I almost dont even want to fool with it. I'm gonna go ahead show ya'll the rest of the pics though, tell me what ya think. I'm really glad I slept on it too. BTW, don't bash the wheels too bad, If I would have gotten the car, they would have came straight off and went for sale. It's not priced terribly either. He wants $2300 obo
