Thanks Matt for the comment. I really love my '88 Cutty.

BUT let me say this, with the t-tops on they tax the a/c something fierce above 80-degrees (and here in Texas that's pretty often), and you nearly have to wear sunglasses to drive the car on a sunny day, deep-tinted t-tops or not. I normally only use the car if I can take the t-tops off. I may have some shades made here sooner or later.

I ADORE the with the tops removed!

I like those wheels it would be nice to have a set like that.
The wheels aren;t terrible, but to me they just don't match the car, color doesn't match either. I would take stab at giving the car the TLC it deserves, but them damn tops have scared me, so I'll prolly let it stay where its at.

T-tops are cool to have on nice summer days and I had considered converting my car over to them but...after driving my brother's '81 Cutlass with factory T-tops, I don't really want them that bad.
It's absolutely amazing how little rigidity you have with them. They do tend to rattle a little bit and they only leak if you take the car through a high pressure car wash. But the day I rode with him down a back country road and we were going over a few bumps in the road, I could watch both the A-pillars moving back and forth. That's when I decided against it.

You haven't driven the car yet? I think you owe it to yourself to drive it & conduct an inspection of the T-tops. Only bad thing I read was avalability of weather stripping. That definitely poses a problem as McGuyver repairs wont work well or last long. T-tops that don't seal will in fact drive you insane. Whats the harm in driving the car..................?
Just a thought, don't pull the trigger & drive it home. Lol. report back your thoughts

The guy said there is no rust anywhere on the car and that the tops don't leak, other than the weatherstrip problem, it's ok I guess. I don't think it looks proportional. To me, the t-tops look too small. If he still has it on Friday morning, I might test drive it, who knows, it may not look as bad in person. Then again, I think I'd rather have a factory t-top car. Does anyone know where a t-top cutlass body might be. I'm in southern middle Tennessee.

Not to try to hijack the thread, but what do you guys do with your T-tops when you are driving and you take them with you? I used to put mne behind the seats, but then my seat backs were cloth, and T-tops were easy to find. Now, I have plastic backs which are very nice, and the T-tops are getting harder and harder to replace.
