Hey all, I'm just getting my fiberglass hood finished, prepped, primed and getting paint this weekend.

My question is this: Should I add insulation under the hood? I want to do this because my hood has custom fiberglass work done to it -- I don't want it to crack from the heat of the BBC underneath.

I plan on adding dynamat under the whole thing, and then insulation over that for added protection. I just don't know how to add extra insulation. How is it attached? What kind of insulation should I use and where do I get it?

Any help is appreciated!

I dont on mine, but mabye someone will say the opposite!

Looks pretty sweet! Insulation that's better than factory, and looks good too. Thanks a ton bro! I will have to add this to my todo list. I'll hold off on the dynamat and go with this stuff instead.

Sorry to revive an old thread, but has anyone not used insulation and had their paint crack? I dont want any more weight than necessary on my front end, so if I can avoid insulationI will.
