the old Vega converter i was using was no good, It was so bad it was pushing transmission fluid up the kickdown cable line which was running out onto the headers. So i ordered a new 2000-2300 stall converter from JEGS and called it a day, now i just gotta swap em out and drive the damn thing... well once i get a speedometer cable....

the good thing is that at least that explains why i was losing all my power!

I'm not to sure about a bad converter pushing transmission fliud up you're kickdown cable. I could see a bad converter not working and overheating the fliud causing it to spit out the vent on top of the transmission but...

lol, idk, its just money right? haha, it pushed fluid out the dipstick alll over the motor. lol, idk hopefully it fixes all the problems, if not im finding another transmission.

your right....it's a blown seal in the transmission that'll cause the fluid to be pushed up the dipstick tube and the torque converter has nothing to do with it.....I'm not sure what would cause the fluid to be pushed up the kickdown cable tho and I'm curious how the fluid from the kickdown cable could be running onto the headers when the kicdown cable is over the intake manifold.

lol, i got a aftermarket bracket from edelbrach, and it wasnt on straight, so it was running down the intake, going behind the head and dripping onto the headers,

btw, the seal is brand new in the transmission, so its not that...

there's more than one seal in a transmission....I think before you waste anymore of your money bring your car into a shop to have it checked out by someone who knows what they are doing...

well, the torque converter was out of a vega (stall converter), and being I am no experts on vegas and it was pulled from the car before i got it, i would assume it is at least 20 years old (it was changed out in the 80's for a dirt car of my grandpas) and it has been sitting since the 90's, it was probably no good anyway. Im gunna pull the transmission, and put the converter in and see if that fixes it. It not, i will be pulling it back out and taking it up to a transmission shop to have it looked at.

how many seals are in a transmission? i remember changing one, but i did it in august of last year, so i may have done others.

sounds more like a restriction or possibly a stuck relief valve in the front oil pump.... I'm not that good with auto transmissions, but have a small working knowlege with them...

yes you have only 4 external seals, but several internal seals(i.e. servos, valve bady seals....)

just my $.02, but could be way off base on this one.

hmmm... im really hoping i dont have to get a rebuild.... grr...
