idk because i touched the top of the manifolds and they were pretty cool to the touch, but with leaky valve cover gaskets thats the oil fumes leaking from the valve cover?
If any fumes were leaking from the valve cover, they would come from either the oil fill port or the PCV valve if that is in the valve cover. The only way visible fumes would come out of the gasket area is if the gasket was so brittle a piece broke off and it was leaking. And either way there would be oil piddling out. A car like this, you should take a weekend and change every gasket you can, or as many as you feel comfortable doing. Remind us again, what engine is in there? V6, V8? I didn't see an oil fill tube in the front so it's not an olds.

Ok. So, to be on the safe side before you start driving it, like I said try and just do general maintenance. Valve cover gaskets, intake gaskets, carb base gasket, and maybe rebuild the carb if you feel up to it. If it's not computer controlled you'll have it a lot easier. But if it runs and drives fine, and don't leak, check the fluids, change if necessary (if you haven't already) and enjoy your time capsule.

The car sounds good on the video. I wouldn't change anything until you drive it for a while. As long as the oil is new and the gas is good I'd drive it and see if any oil is leaking from the valve covers. Your video was 1 minute 34 seconds and that is not enough time for the engine block to heat up enough to burn oil. If your valve gaskets dried up and fell out then I guess your transmission pan should have the same problem. The valve gaskets have more wear and tear on them when the car is running with it heating up and cooling down than they do sitting around. There is cork gaskets on the racks in warehouses that are more than a few years old and they are good to use.

also there is a very bad smell when i run the car, i dont think its just gas either, should i worry about that smell? the car only has 22k miles so the cat should still be good.

How long have you run the car?.
in that video it was just a few seconds before recording, but ive ran it for probably around 5 minutes and there was a good amount of smoke coming out. and if you mean how long since i got it running, i would say about 10 minutes over all, but alot of cold starts. ive never got it to full temp because the radiator has some weird white sh*t growing in it.
