Saw videos of Atlanta and Alabama earlier on the news, and no offense but had to laugh. Our roads look like that almost daily here in Buffalo.. Just saw the plow go by for the first time in a day or two there was a few inches in the street.

Come on guys its fun to do 55-60 on the snow covered roads.

I've been laughing at idiot's here all day myself. I dont think anyone uses common sense when it snows around here. There have been several people off in our yard stuck because they think they can run the 55 through the curves when it's solid ice.

Definitely can't be doing that.... Maybe its just out of habit, but when i pull out of the driveway and I get some wheel spin, common sense tells me its slippery and care should be used. Going straight and turning on slippery roads aren't the same...

This is my second winter with a Cruze as my daily driver and never a problem even plowing through deep snow. No snow tires either. Its all about knowing your vehicle and how to handle conditions.

Tell me about it. I have a cavalier I drive back and forth to work everyday and I feel more comfortable in it than I do my truck just because I know how it reacts in slippery conditions.

there are two tractor trailers in this photo, one in the ditch and one further up the road with the trailer going sideways. Truck drivers usually have experience of driving in all types of weather so if they are having problems I suspect the roads are covered in ice. Unless you have studs or chains driving on ice is next to impossible so I don't don't laugh at the dozens of drivers who were stranded by the storm or ended up in the ditch.

they were probably behind cars that were travelling too slow. see that all the time here in North Carolina, wife was even a victim of it... car in front of her was being overly-cautious and moving 10 mph and lost foward momentum going uphill, and when he started going backwards, she went into the ditch trying to avoid him...

the folks here in the south are just a form of amusement around here when it snows!

Here in eastern NC we got about three inches of sleet and freezing rain first then three inches +- of snow on top. When they scraped the roads that left a sheet of ice. It melted just a bit yesterday then the temps fell to single digit last night. It is just getting close to 25 now. The roads here are screwed. The GP is sitting and waiting in the shop. I did get some quality time on my 750 Brute Force wheeler while I was supposed to be working the past two days.
