Marketable... I'm sure. Cost effective not so much. $$$
Big commercial fab shops around here are not cheap. If I could have found a side jobber doing it in their garage absolutely. But I could not View attachment 160650
Looks great!

I say worth it for your hobby car. Are you going to clear or otherwise seal the aluminum?

Probably could have saved a bunch cutting it out yourself, then have them weld it. Looks like they used a water jet, though- very nice job. Polish that b*tch up!
I'd like to polish it and clear coat it.
There are many places on this build where I could have saved money 💰 but it doesn't seem to happen that way. 😆
If anyone has suggestions for coating the bare aluminum speak up. For every product I've seen out there it seems someone had a problem keeping it clear and not peeling.

I thought Sharkhide was promising but our boy fleming442 hates it so now I'm not very optimistic on that stuff.

This stuff works great for protecting aluminum. It's a 2 part formula and withstands 300 degrees.

Yep, don't do that. 5 out of 6 polished aluminum wheels look good a year later with VHT Wheel Clear, which I think would work underhood. 1 wheel has started to lift, but I'm blaming prep on that. The 2 Sharkhide wheels are so pitted, they need a complete redo. What ever happened to Zoop's? Was that any good?

I'm going to be that guy.... I think polishing or sealing it w/clear is going to take away the attention of many of your other under-hood compartment details. Keep it matching the rest of the firewall. G-Body peeps will still notice the work done w/o it becoming the main thing noticed.

Just another perspective.

This sucks. I have an entire unopened quart of Sharkhide. 😕
