FITech efi swap

Thats cool. I havent had time to toy with my 350. Its pretty crammed in the garage right now and its raining out. If my problem becomes something like piston rings I may just do the 6.0 swap carbed and try something the fitech later. I would love to find an ls3 intake, harness computer, and do it efi from the get but it adds way to much and i don't have that kind of money to spend in one shot on that right now. But we'll see it will depend on the diagnosis of 350.
Good luck. When are you going to put it in

Just wanted to chime in really quickly and let you know that you should definitely fit your tank and install the license plate to make sure the neck is bent correctly and there is room for the cap before you put any gas in this think. I put the same tank in my Regal and didn't pay attention but the filler neck definitely should have been bent in and down. As it sits, i have 2 3/8" nuts on each lp mounting hole so that the plate doesn't look ridiculous.

Yes, Thanks for reminding me. I've heard about this. I will check the fitment.

Awesome.. I just ordered mine as well! Ordered the 600 and it's due by the 15th so I'm cool with that. Also ordered the Fuel Command center so I don;t have to mess with the goofy wagon tank. I'm excited and skeptical but all the reviews I've read were very positive.

Are you going to use the timing control? I'm kind of confused how that is all setup. I just have a basic HEI system.

I just took it for a drive a little while ago and wow what a difference and the fuel smell is gone! The wife is happy the garage doesn't smell like fuel and the throttle response is great. It got better as the ecu learned the parameters while driving.

So far i'm very happy. Install was easy. I will post up what I did once I get the pics sorted. I didn't take as many detailed pics but you'll get the idea.

No more pumping. Turn the key and go lol.

Even their tech line is clueless on how to control timing. The Holley Sniper has better support with timing control, using the HEI and is similar priced. They seem to run decent but timing control is important for fuel economy and detonation suppression.

Any more feedback now that you've lived with it for a month or so? Just curious for any more remarks you might share.

I have FiTech's Go EFI 4 system sitting in my garage in its box, awaiting its eventual install. I plan to borrow a carb and an external fuel pump in order to first break in my engine; after that, I will swap over to the EFI setup.

I haven't driven it a ton but even though it is a self learning system it still requires some fine tuning. I still have to find the time to work within since I've been working late and limited time on the weekends.

Currently I have to work with a idle surge and getting the idle to come back down quickly. I advise to set the initial setting and drive it for a bit so it can self learn your parameters. I was a bit impatient and started fiddling with the settings and threw things off a bit. So I ended up resetting it back to factory defaults. Otherwise it is a good system and easy to install. You will need a.

Fuel pump Hotwire kit. You can make your own or get one from racetronix. I made my own. It's pretty simple even for a novice.

Fitech customer has been great the few times I've called. I will be calling the to fix the idle surge and sometimes doesn't start right away after warm up. I expect it to start right up just like any factory efi. Otherwise it is a very good system.

I will post some pics of the rest of my progress soon.
