1969 BUICK 350CI - 4B .... 10:25 COMPRESSION .... OEM .... ORIGINAL 69' .... SUPPOSEDLY RECENTLY REBUILT (?) BUT I CAN TELL YOU FOR SURE THAT IT IS A GOOD RUNNING MOTOR AND AS YOU CAN SEE IT IS STILL IN THE CAR FOR THE MOMENT ........... COME SEE AND HEAR IT RUN .....
TH35O GOES ALONG WITH IT ........... YOU WILL NOT FIND A BETTER DEAL FOR THIS KIND OF ENGINE ............ OR FOR THAT MATTER A BETTER RUNNING ENGINE ........... MORE MONEY OR NOT .....

That looks super clean and I'm sure it's a tight motor. Unfortunately it is very high compression and detonation will be a problem. I stuggled for years with a 1968 350 just like that. I finally went with a 1974 2 barrel engine and used the '68 4 barrel intake. End of problem.

Sounds like he bought the car with the 350 & th350 in it and he wants as much as he can get without knowing much about the engine and transmission

I see the price of $800.00 didn't make it in. I think the guy is just being honest, it looks great and it's not like your buying a pig in a poke. You have the opportunity to hear it run and check it out

If I knew the price was $800 I would have said it sounded like a great price..

68-69 Buick 350s oiled through passages in the block and heads into the rocker shafts as opposed to pushrod oiling like most civilized engines. They use special lifters, different rocker shafts and arms, and solid pushrods and RP is the code on the block for the '69 10.25:1 engine. If it's just a standard 8:1 (RW) or 9:1 (RO) two barrel engine, that will tell ya. If it has the "10:1" pistons in it if it's been rebuilt, it's probably only about 9.5:1 if they used the standard aftermarket felpro gaskets. The "10:1" pistons also have a shorter comp. height than the stock shallow dish "high compression" pistons, so thats where some of it is lost as well as the thicker gasket. Stock were .020, aftermarket are double that.
Got a link to it bowtie? Can't seem to find it for myself.
