JBreu i ask my self the complete opposite every time i see "factory 4spd car converted to automatic" in a craigslist ad. But whatever floats your boat i say. Either way im interested in this kit too. I am going to purchase it and install soon so ill let everyone know how it goes

Sounds Good, Im Going To Purchase It Tomorrow And Get The Pedals And Everyhting Set So When I Get My Motor Complete I Can Just Hook Everything Up And Not Have To Much Of a Hassle. Good Luck On Your Conversion!

excellent price for sure. have you considered a 5 speed manual for the overdrive?

I did, but i was offered a saginaw 4 speed, with hurst t handle shifter, all linkage for shifter, bellhousing, new clutch/presure plate for $150 bucks, an offer i could not refuse, i am only 20 years old, so a 5 speed might be next if i ever deside to do another swap after college and i get settled in with a job.

You will have to take the old brake pedal out and put in the other pedals. You may also need a longer bolt put the bracket is the same for the pedals. Have fun, If you have the dash in. I had the dash out and it was a breeze. I hope you know gbodys use there own special bellhousing/fork combo. The bell from an 84 firebird/camaro 4 speed will also work. I have one if your interested. Here is a link with some info that WILL help.

I dont have the dash out, but i do have the engine out, and old automatic transmission out. i dont think it will be to bad once i get the bracket out and swap the pedals out. i think it will take about 2 weekends to do as i am a full time student. i will keep you all posted with updates, thanks for the advice 85olds!

You do not need to take the whole bracket or dash out. It will be easier but you can also reach up under and unbolt the pedals and drop it out.

that would prob make things easier, ill see wha works best. i do have a 606 bell from an A body so i am set on the bellhousing and the parts place kit has a clutch fork, and im sure i could fab it to work. i just wanna get my pedals and parts of the linkage all in prior to winter so i can just worry about building my 355 SBC up

Don't forget the nut/stud that is in the top middle of the pedal bracket. The dash is secured there and it's easy to overlook it and battle needlessly wondering why the bracket won't come out.
