Yes they are interchangeable. I had the long one that was pictured in this thread, so I replaced it with what I thought would be the same. Ended up being a reproduction one, which was much shorter and curved at the end. I had to notch it to fit with the "GP brace", but it funtions the exact same. And it's also shorter and less visible from a couple feet away.
Thank you for your input, man.
I also have the GP brace and jounce bars on my car, and I've been using the El Camino SS airdam, or valance over the years. I guess I'll also have to trim the deflector when I get it. Thanks for the heads-up on that.
I most definitely want to put it back on the car to help route cooling air to the radiator. They do serve a purpose.

Not a problem. I think I may have a picture or two of it in my build thread. You don't have to cut that much out, and I have a bar from Kirban Performance so I don't know if it hangs lower or tucks up more than the GM bar. Here's a link to a new one if you don't want to get dirty

That's actually a pretty nice looking piece. I kinda like that. I think certain year S-10's had a similar airdam/ deflector on them.
I looked under my car before, and it looks like there won't be any clearance issues with the deflector and GP brace.
In other words, no trimming involved. 🙂
Now, they were held on by a slew of hex head sheetmetal screws if I remember correctly.

IMy question is. Are the various G-body air deflectors interchangeable? I saw one in the junkyard the other day on 4-dr Cutlass.

I got one off a 4 door Cutlass at the PAP, and it fit just fine on my wagon, looks identical to the orignal.

Thank you, buddy! I appreciate your input. That's exactly what I want to hear. Hopefully the car is still there tomorrow...and not..*gulp*..crushed. :|

I don't know if they are interchangeable or not. I do know they all look a little different, I would grab it if it was cheap enough and see it lines up with the bolt wholes...if it does I'd go with it.

Well I picked the air deflector today and It lines up with the bolt holes. I'd say it's a winner...and for 5 bucks I couldn't go wrong.
I know it's a flimsy piece of plastic, but I think many don't survive. I'm happy. 😀

Hey Jack, what you planning on doing with your old air dam?
