Hey ive got a 78 Malibu coupe and with unknown amount of miles on it (odometer rolled over at least once) and ive added some 17" billet wheels and low pro tires and thats it. Ever since ive had the car, the steering has been very loose and "touchy" feeling and just sort of wanders. I want good handling out of this car and right now i dont feel like i could trust it at over 70 mph without it potentially getting away from me. So far i have purchased new Moog upper and lower ball joints and some Belltech 2" drop spindles. I want to buy a rebuild kit for the front end with new tie rods, steering link bar, and poly urethane bushings for the A arms. Is there a forum vendor here who can get me a quality kit at a good price on here or what have some of you done to your cars and did it help with the loose front end?

I have the 17 inch Billet rims same exact thing. 3/4'' billet spacers are supposedly the cure to the ride quality issue; along w/ redoing the front ball joints. A set of control arms from the forum vendor UMI would help you too; I have not bought their control arms yet but plan to eventually. You should do very well with the moog parts for everything else such as springs. Other spring brands will sit low and respond slowly.

Yeah im not ready to do tubular control arms just yet, just want to replace all the bushings and steering components to new for now. Basically something like in the ebay link i posted below, im just kind pf skeptical about Ebay stuff like that cause some of it tends to be junk. Has anyone bought something like what i linked and used it with good results?

They are charging $110 for all those components?...I would walk away, you get what you pay for.

I used the gbodyparts kit with the Moog components some number of years ago and have been really happy with it. I also added the upgraded front/rear F41 sway bars which helped a lot. The other thing that most of our gbody's could use is to have all of the bushings replace around the car..

It looks like a good kit...
