That on is generally used for the pcv valve i believe.

Nope, sorry. The PCV needs to connect to manifold vacuum. That port is above the throttle plates and is the bowl vent.

I thought about that after I posted, the part about it being ported instead of full vacuum. I also didn't think the charcoal canister vacuum line was that large.

in my situation i am using a stock rebuilt quadrajet and my olds rocket came with a 3 line pump, would swithcing from a 3 line pump to a 2 line pump be a fine change rather than swapping to a 3 line sending unit and running the correct lines for a three line pump.

im looking to do it right and wondering if just going to a 2 line pump wouldnt be cutting corners in any way, obviously it would be much easier and less expensive so it would make my life easier than changing my sending unit and adding a line

You can simply cap the extra port on the pump and not even buy a new pump. The return line is nice because it lowers the probability of vapor lock by circulating excess fuel back to the tank, but it's not mandatory. I've capped these many times over the last few decades. Never a problem.

do you know where i can buy the cap to fit the return line fitting or what size and pitch its going to be?
